Description
Ron Zacapa 23 is made using the Solera aging system, where rums of different ages and personalities are blended and matured in barrels previously used to age American whiskeys, delicate sherries and fine Pedro Ximénez wines. Zacapa 23 includes blends of rums ranging in age from 6 to 23 years, creating a complex and refreshing profile that makes it ideal to enjoy neat or in cocktails. This rum offers delicious notes of caramel, oak, spices, fruits and raisins. The place where Zacapa is aged is known as “The House Above the Clouds” as it is located at an altitude of (8000 feet) 2300 meters above sea level.
Tasting Notes:
- View: Smoked
- Nose: Depth of fruit and raisins and apricot preserves.
- Palate: Intense epicenter of salty oak, nutmeg, leather and tobacco, with notes of coffee and delicate sweet vanilla, balanced with a touch of cinnamon and ginger at the pleasantly astringent finish.
Pairing: Accompany it with a glass of ice water.
